Our unique Solar heating solution for homes and offices is affordable, and cuts electricity bills by 30 to 60%.
If everyone who could use it did, the nation's electric and oil usage for heating could be reduced by 30-40%.

The key is to harness the sun's energy most efficiently, by direct solar heating of our homes, offices, buildings and industries. Our solution beats solar electricity, because of its lower cost, superior efficiency, and greater heating capacity.  It can help quickly reduce U.S. burning of fossil fuels and cut polluting greenhouse gases.

Overview

Our Renewable Energy analysis shows that the most efficient way to harness the sun's full power is to capture its heat directly as heat, not by converting it to electricity, which is a very inefficient process that gets only about 10% of the sun's total power. Therefore, homes, offices and buildings should be designed to capture the maximum amount of solar heat on the sunny side of the building, and leave the shady northern side to other uses, like solar electric panels set on a tilt, to still capture the sun's power. Instead, almost all current solar electric installations have it back to front. They put solar electric panels on the sunny side of the building, where passive solar heating can do just as good as PV panels (which can be mounted anywhere).

For example, the building at left is the wrong design -- solar electric panels cover the sunny side of the roof, where passive solar heating should have been used to get heat directly into the building, because it is equally efficient at utilizing solar heat as are solar electric panels. The building at right is the right design, utilizing passive solar heat to the max on the sunny side of the building.  Solar electric panels can still be tilt-mounted on the north part of the roof to capture the sun's rays too, but in a roof area where passive solar is of no use.

Is heating or Cooling more important?

Living in the southern part of the U.S., it is hard to imagine that heating is more important than cooling.  But the fact is that for all of Canada, most of Europe, and 65% of the U.S., much more fossil fuels are consumed in heating homes than in cooling them.  Those in blue regions at right face heating their homes 6-9 months of the year, mostly using diesel oil furnaces or gas (same throughout Canada.)

In the yellow region, heat is needed 6 months of the year or more. Considering the huge population in the eastern U.S. in blue and yellow, most U.S. people spend more money on heating than on cooling.  Only in southern brown and red regions is cooling equal to, or more important than, heating.  So, whether from diesel or gas, or from electricity generation, it is clear that  more than 70% of fossil fuels used for heating or cooling, go to heat homes and offices, only 30% goes to cool them. This is hard for people in the southern U.S. to accept, but in terms of total fossil fuel consumption for the entire U.S., it is accurate, and more so for Canada.
Existing Solar Heating Designs

The key to solving the problem of harnessing solar energy most efficiently is to get the Sun's power directly.  Any "second-stage conversion", either to electricity, AC current, steam heat to run turbines, or circulating fluids to heat homes, is much less efficient than direct solar heating.  We need to capture 100% of solar energy to directly heat our living and working places -- not just the 5, 10, 15 and 20% of all solar heat that current second-stage conversion and "passive solar" designs are limited to.

A typical "passive solar" home design, at left, is very inefficient compared to our innovative solar heating technology.  Our tests on passive solar homes found 5 to 10% solar utilization, up to 15% in special cases. The savings on electricity bills is seen, but not very significant -- $10 to $25 per month saving at most.  A passive solar design is better than nothing, but it won't significantly cut fossil fuel burning for electric power generation.  Also, since complete building re-design is needed, passive solar designs are only feasible for new homes and offices, they are too costly for existing buildings.

Our Unique Solar Heating Solution

In contrast to "passive solar", our innovative new solar-heating room technology is a beautiful addition to any home, office building or warehouse.  It is definitely active technology -- there is nothing passive about it.  And the cost savings on electricity are dramatically more than existing solar heating designs. The proof of this cost savings has been carefully documented by us, as we perfected the technology.

We have designed a series of model solar heating rooms that have incredible heat efficiency in both summer and winter, and which can transfer heat directly into a home, office or industry in a way that directly replaces the need for artificial heat, such as electricity, gas, or oil furnaces, inefficient water heating, or other second- stage heating methods.  The sun constantly heats a large volume of air inside an enclosed glass sun room to 80º-90°F, and this is blown into the house, office or industrial building to totally supplant the need for artificial heating of any kind.
Amazing Heating Efficiency

The heating efficiency of our unique solar heating rooms is truly amazing. Sun shining for 12 hours a day gives 14 hours heating of houses, offices and warehouses -- i.e. 14 hours when electricity, gas, or oil heating can be turned off.  Instead of heating all day, you only need it 50% of the day.

The cost savings are huge -- 30-50% of conventional heating bills can be eliminated with our solar heating room designed using the right capacity.
Day long sun is best but not required. Light overcast or partly cloudy days heat fine too, the efficiency is cut a little, but still well over 50% of total use.
In deep winter, with snow outside, our solar heating rooms reach a lovely 70-80°F, and continue to heat buildings all months that heat is needed.
Sunny or partly cloudy climates give 250-300 days/year of constant solar heating, cutting yearly electric bills 30-50%, depending on the air volume.
Doors in the solar heating room let out summer heat.  In fall, winter and spring, our solar room heats your building gently, efficiently, comfortably.
Keys to Success

The key to success of our solar heating rooms is two fold -- the glass panels that let just heat into the heating room -- and the roofing material that traps heat in, and converts it to usable solar heating. The glass panels can be single or double pane, depending on local climate needs, but the roofing is a special material, and it is most important to use the right roofing material to gain maximum efficiency.

Special "solar glo" corrugated fiberglass roofing, made by Crane Composites, at 23525 West Eames St. Channahon, Illinois, 60410, USA, Phone 815-467-8600, is essential. Their roofing has withstood our tests of 20 years time, aging, fading and impact, and filters the right sun's rays to create maximum heating with least loss.  It far surpasses thin polycarbonate roofing sold in Home Depot, and lets in the right infrared waves from the Sun to accomplish maximum heating in the shortest time. This product is a key ingredient in the success of our unique solar heating rooms.
Amazingly Green Economics

The table at right shows the amazing economics of our innovative solar heating rooms to home and office owners, and cumulatively on a national scale -- which shows how our technology can dramatically cut fossil fuels usage and help avert global warming better than solar electric panels.

Using average electricity bills for a medium size home and a typical office of $233 and $791 per month, plus $200 home and $600 heating for 5 months, and a very realistic 40% savings that our technology is known to accomplish (we're exceeding 50% on our test home right now), then every home using our technology can save $1500 per year on utility bills, and payback the entire investment in the solar heating room in 5 years or less.  Offices can also payback an $22,000 investment in a solar heating room in 5 years.

The economic implications of these utility savings become astounding on a national scale. At least 35% of all homes, offices and warehouses with the space can use our technology; office complexes can share it.  This means a total national savings of $ 106 billion, which cuts U.S. energy consumption by 10% in a single stroke!  The U.S. could avoid burning 850 million barrels of crude oil per year -- 10.5% of all fuel consumed in the U.S. -- and 140% of all fuel oil burned to heat homes and generate peak electric power!!

The U.S. can stop 325 million tons of CO2 going into the atmosphere each year -- 10% of the carbon credit for the country!  That's like pulling 25 million U.S. vehicles off the road !  For an immediate solution to our imported oil + global warming crises, nothing else comes close, not even solar electric!

Top Quality Ecological Enhancement

Our unique solar heating rooms add a special touch of class, quality and value to any building, at an unbelievably affordable price. Our model solar room cost only $3000 in materials!  For that, you get at least $15,000 increased property value, and a unique "being outside, living inside" feel, for enjoyment, recreation and heating.

Our solar heating rooms can cut 40% off electric - heating bills. If all buildings that could use them did, the total aggregate U.S. energy savings would far eclipse any savings from solar electric panels, which are too expensive to be adopted by the majority of people.  Our solar rooms are affordable to every home owner, they are beautiful, practical -- simply the best addition you can make to your home or office.

The key to harnessing renewable solar energy is to use the Sun's solar power directly, not by second-stage conversion to electricity, or passive solar.  When the sun's heat directly heats our solar heating rooms, you get 100% solar power!
Help your Country get out of its Oil - Global Warming Crisis -- Donate to our exciting Solar-Heating Renewable Energy Project

Our innovative and unique solar heating room technology is the fastest solution to the U.S.'s current oil crisis and global warming dilemma.  If everyone across the country were building them right now, dramatic savings would be seen immediately, this winter.

It is harder than you think to get the attention of policy makers, the general public, homeowners, and every one else who needs to be aware of our technology.  They do not have to "buy" it from us, they just build to our specifications and start saving immediately.  We need to publish detailed plans, schematics and technical manuals to help homeowners and builders across the nation.  Producing these volumes in large quantities is expensive, and involves considerable up front costs.

More importantly though, is getting everyone's attention, including the news media, celebrities, government officials, and whoever can spread the word about our innovative new technology the quickest. The fact that it is published on our website doesn't mean people are going to flock to it and adopt the technology, en masse, everywhere across the U.S.   The value and savings possible has to be "sold" to people everywhere, and it takes money to "sell" a new approach, overcome skepticism, and get it adopted.

The best way to help get this technology to everyone is to  donate to PC Research  right now.  Even a single large contribution from a very generous donor wanting to help out his country and fellow citizens could prioritize this PC Research project to the forefront. Our  Contributions page  explains how this works.  If you are as excited about this project as we are, spread the word -- encourage everyone wanting to contribute to a worthwhile cause, to  donate to PC Research's Renewable Energy Project now.
